And there we were. Our final day of walking seemed to have come round so quickly. We decided to leave at 6am so that we would arrive in Santiago with plenty of time to enjoy the finish. Pete wasn't so keen, so had a lie in and left a couple of hours later.
It was dark when we left, but there were still other pilgrims on the road and it got much busier as we walked
Our route. 17 miles, uphill most of the way
One of the highlights of the day was the amazing dawn chorus as the birds woke up
A typical path through the woods. A lot of work goes into maintaining these and we often saw people working on the paths
Another indifferent cat and a cute dog. We have seen so many along the way
A little bit of dressing up at our breakfast spot
And finally we had arrived. It was a very emotional moment. Over 200 miles walked since we left Porto. The Cathedral Square was absolutely buzzing with happy pilgrims from around the world.
Would we do it again? Almost certainly
