This was our nicest walk so far. It was a little bit drizzly climbing out of Vigo, but as we entered the forest the sun came out. The route is called the Senda Da Agua (The water path) Beautiful views all day long. The spectacular Ponte de Rande was in sight for a lot of the day
Our route. 17 miles and 1300 ft of climbing. Most of the climb was in the second half of the walk after leaving the town of Redondella
Aileen and Marcus left early, so we walked all day with Pete. We met and chatted to lots of others on the track though.
Redondela is known as the village of the viaducts, as two massive railway viaducts cross over the city.
After a long uphill slog our destination of Arcade was in sight. It had been a long day, but very enjoyable.
Along with many other pilgrims we have been having our baggage transported for us. It is always a relief to arrive and find your bags are already there. We continue to be amazed at the tougher people who are carrying everything on their backs.
